Prying Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of Prying, a proximity network application operated from Argentina by the person responsible for Prying. By creating an account, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. What Prying is (and what it isn't)

Prying connects people who crossed paths in real life and want to share their social networks, with double consent: nobody sees your identity or your social networks without reciprocity. Prying is not a dating app or a hookup service; it's a tool to pick the contact back up with someone you already saw in person.

2. Minimum age: 18

To use Prying you have to be over 18. By signing up you declare that you are. Minors' accounts, once detected, are deleted along with all their data.

3. Your account

One account per person, with truthful details and a profile photo in which your face can be seen (it's the system's key to recognition).
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything that happens with your account.
You may only add your own social networks. Impersonating another person is grounds for immediate deletion.

4. Prohibited conduct

It is forbidden to use Prying to:

Harass, hound, intimidate or stalk other people, inside or outside the app. Unwanted insistence is harassment.
Impersonate identities, use other people's photos or create fake profiles.
Send spam, unsolicited commercial content or malicious links.
Post or send content that is illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, non-consensual sexually explicit material or that involves minors.
Attempt to breach the security of the service, extract other users' data (scraping) or reverse-engineer it for unlawful purposes.
Any activity contrary to Argentine law or to the law of the country from which you use the app.

5. Moderation, suspension and deletion

You can report and block any user from the app. The block is total and symmetric: neither of you ever sees the other again.
We review reports and may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity.
You can delete your account whenever you want (see the Privacy Policy).

6. Meeting in the real world (important)

Prying makes it easier to reconnect with people you already saw in real life, but it does not run background checks on users and does not guarantee anyone's identity, intentions or conduct. If you decide to meet someone in person, do it with the precautions you'd take with any stranger: a public place, tell someone you trust, and trust your instinct. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prying is not liable for damages arising from interactions or meetings between users, inside or outside the application. If you're in a risky situation, contact your local authorities (911 in Argentina).

7. Content and license

What you upload (photo, bio, links) and what you send in the chat (messages, photos, documents) remains yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive and revocable license to display it inside the app according to the tiered reveal rules (that is the function of the service). When you delete your account, the license ends and the content is deleted.

8. Third-party trademarks

The names and logos of social networks (Instagram, TikTok, X, etc.) belong to their respective owners. Prying uses them nominatively, only to identify the links that users themselves add. There is no association, sponsorship or endorsement of Prying by those platforms.

9. Service availability and beta

Prying is in beta: the service is offered "as is", it may have interruptions, errors or changes in features, and today's free features (for example, premium sparks) may become paid in the future, which will be announced inside the app. We make backups and purge data daily, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prying's total liability towards a user is limited to the amount that user has paid for the service in the last 12 months (today: zero, while the service is free). Nothing in these terms limits liabilities that the law does not allow to be limited.

11. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms. Substantial changes will be announced in the app with reasonable advance notice. Continuing to use Prying after a change means accepting it.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute will be submitted to the ordinary courts of the city where the responsible party resides, except for public-policy rules that provide for another jurisdiction for consumers.
